Kayla Stomack, DVM MPH 


Kayla was educated by Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine after getting a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at the Michigan State College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.  Kayla also completed her Master’s in Public Health at Michigan State University.  Kayla worked in emergency medicine before taking the Head Veterinarian Position with APAWS. Kayla is involved in martial arts (Okinawan karate), but also enjoys travel, learning languages, gardening, kayaking, hunting/fishing, and scuba diving. She also loves adrenaline sports: skydiving, bungee jumping, rock climbing/rappelling, shark diving, zip lining. She volunteers with MI FFA and Loop Abroad, plays saxophone and is learning violin, and enjoys cooking. She has four dogs: Charlie, brindle Pitbull, who loves to climb back in bed after his morning bathroom run. Nysa, a blue Pitbull, who loves to cuddle under the blankets and give frequent kisses. She also has 2 corgis: Piper, who keeps everyone in line and Oliver who is content to snuggle on anyone’s lap.  Kayla also has a rabbit named Henry who just likes food.

Kelsey Marlatt, 

Practice Manager

Kelsey has been working in veterinary medicine as a receptionist and technician for over 15 years. She enjoys client education and providing a safe space for animals to feel comfortable while receiving medical care. Kelsey is a huge animal rescue advocate and spends most of her free time fostering for local rescues with her partner, Mike. They have several rescued pets including dogs, cats, reptiles and aquatic animals.

Veterinary Technician 

Parry is a Veterinary Technician here at APAWS Veterinary Hospital and is currently a student in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program. Parry’s special interests in the veterinary field include quality patient care, surgery, and anesthesia. Perry has over 3 years of veterinary experience and is always eager to grow and learn. Perry strives to be true to herself, her coworkers, and our clients/patients. Outside of work, Perry loves spending time with her family, but the true loves of her life are her 3 dogs, Sam Winchester, Olivia, Niklaus, and her cat Phoebe. Parry enjoys nearly everything and anything and cant wait to provide compassionate care to our clients pets!

Veterinary Technician 

Eva is a Veterinary Technician here at APAWS Veterinary Hospital. Eva has a wide variety of experience handling many different species of animals and has over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field. Eva also has an abundance of experience working in shelter medicine! Eva loves hiking with her dogs at surrounding metro parks and an avid Detroit Lions fan. Eva lives with her partner Rick, the love of her life and their fur family.

Alyssa Jean,

Veterinary Assistant

Alyssa is a Veterinary Assistant here at APAWS Veterinary Hospital. Alyssa and her 3 year old son, Landon, currently own 2 rescue dogs, a Pit Bull mixed breed named Boozer and a Dachshund mixed breed named Zoey. Alyssa graduated from Oakland Community College with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, and intends on utilizing her education and training to be a voice for improperly cared for animals, as she aspires to one day become a certified Animal Cruelty Investigator.  Alyssa volunteers her time at several animal shelters and rescue organizations caring for the dogs and cats that are waiting for their forever homes. Alyssa enjoys the summer time, country music, interior decorating, photography, spending time with family, watching sports, being out on the lake and going on outdoor adventures. Alyssa is a dedicated animal advocate and is always looking for ways to help animals that are in need.

Olivia Ferro,


Olivia is a Receptionist here at APAWS veterinary Hospital.  Because Olivia's hands are full with her toddler Ava, and Twin Toddlers Ronin and River, and does not have any pets of her own, she works with animals every day! When the time is right she hopes to bring a rescue into her family. Olivia started in the animal industry as a bather and quickly found her passion with grooming. Olivia has been a professional groomer for 8 years. Olivia feels working with pets has changed her life in the highest of purpose. She holds closely her relationships and experiences with pets and their parents. In her free time, Olivia enjoys studying history, exploring cities, crafting, and finding and creating new experiences with her small children and fiancé. Olivia is grateful to be apart of the APAWS team!
